My Story
I wasn't always a teacher!! I started my career after leaving college in customer service and spent many years doing jobs where I helped and advised people. These are fundamental skills when teaching, but little did I know, these skills would be invaluable later!
My journey started in 2006 whilst on maternity leave I found myself looking for something to develop myself further and I found a brochure on English Language Teaching. It was an initial weekend course Teaching English as a Second Language and I decided to give it try. I loved it!
We had already bought a second home in 2005 in Spain, so when we sold our house in Manchester, it seemed like a perfect adventure to come and experience a new life in the sun :) I started out in 2007, working with academies in after school clubs and also local businesses, but it wasn't until 2010, I took the leap of faith and became self employed. I have continued working with many academies doing online teaching (before it was fashionable), face to face and group classes
The turning point was in 2016 after a contract ended with an excellent academy, I was left with a few private students and a lot of time. I decided to take the advice of a mentor/boss and launched my own academy in a local village offering primary, secondary and adult classes and had acknowledgement of being a recognised Cambridge Assessment Centre, everything was going exceptionally well until COVID threw a wrench in the works. After months of closure and restrictions, we finally closed in February 2022 and I have since being working 100% online with various online platforms ...Throughout all of this, I’ve remained passionate about teaching and have helped hundreds of students improve their language skills and I am excited for what the future holds! Quality education and customer satisfaction are of the utmost importance to me, which is why I ensure that all my students receive the highest level of instruction and individualized attention.
